Request Action:

Pass a Resolution authorizing the payment of the monthly health insurance stipend to be paid directly to the city's health insurance plan.

 

Need:

To authorize a health insurance stipend to be paid directly to the health insurance plan.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

Resolution No. 17R-04-130 was previously approved to allow a monthly health insurance stipend. This Resolution would authorize that payment to be made directly to the City's health insurance plan  The stipend would be deemed taxable income, unless the employee is a member of the city health insurance plan and makes an election to have the stipend be paid directly to the plan or as reimbursement of actual health insurance payments in which case it would not be reported as income.
