Request Action:

Requesting City Commission approval of the Resolution to move forward with the required FDOT permit.  The FDOT permit will allow the City to install public art on the utility boxes.

 

Need:

The Project requires a permit from the Florida Department of Transportation and they have advised the City Engineer that this Resolution is mandatory to proceed.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

The City of Lauderhill's Public Art Board voted to use their funds to install wraps with public art designs decorating two (2) of the utility boxes in close proximity to the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC).

The designs (attached as backup) are artistic to complement the adjacent LPAC Facility. These boxes are located east of the northbound lanes of N SR 7/441. Broward County has provided their preliminary consent to move forward.
