Request Action:

Pass an Ordinance to approve the transfer of title of 10 vacant parcels from City of Lauderhill ownership to the ownership of the Community Redevelopment Agency.

Need:

To transfer title of certain vacant parcels from the City of Lauderhill to the CRA.

Summary Explanation/ Background:

An ordinance is requested from the City Commission to facilitate the transfer of 10 (ten) City of Lauderhill owned vacant parcels located within the City's Central Redvelopment Area, to the Community Redevelopment Agency for development as single family homes.  The conveyance will provide for maximum impact in the delivery of single family homes to the subject area with the goal of increasing homeownership.  Furthermore, transfer of the City owned parcels to the CRA is necessary as the CRA acts as the redvelopment arm of the City, and said transfer of ownership will ensure efficiency in delivery and uniformity among the single family home product type.
