RESOLUTION NO. 20R-11-224: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING VARIOUS MEMBERS TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE BY THE CITY COMMISSION AS A WHOLE FOR A FOUR (4) YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 2024 TO FILL EXPIRED POSITIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, DESORAE GILES-SMITH).

Request Action:
Adopt a Resolution to approve appointing several members to serve on the Local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee by the Commission as a Whole, for a four (4) year term, expiring June 2024.
Need:
To fill expired terms on the Lauderhill Local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Several board members positions on the Lauderhill Local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee have expired; there are a total of eight (8) expired/vacant seats on this board. The board must consist of members meeting at least six (6) of the following criteria (current board members meet criteria i and j) (Note: the board may include multiple members meeting the same criteria so long as a total of six (6) are represented on the board):
(a) A citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing.
(b) A citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing.
(c) A citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing.
(d) A citizen who is actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing.
(e) A citizen who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing.
(f) A citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.
(g) A citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing.
