Request Action:
A resolution is requested from the City Commission to approve the City of Lauderhill’s Fifth Year Annual Action Plan.

Need:
Action is required to obtain commission approval prior to submittal to satisfy the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations for participating jurisdictions receiving federal funding.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
Staff has prepared the Fifth annual action plan in accordance with the policies and regulations set forth by HUD. Proposed activities are as follows:

Administration: $151,635
Public Facilities & Infrastructure: $492,814
Public Services: $113,726

Pursuant to regulations set forth by the HUD, the City of Lauderhill has developed its proposed Fifth-Year Action Plan based upon ESTIMATED funding allocation of approximately $758,175. This document will serve as the City's planning document for Program Year (PY) 2024-2025. In addition, each activity utilizing CDBG fund must address at least one (1) of the following three National Objectives:

§ Benefiting low- and moderate- income persons
§ Prevention or elimination of blight, or
§ Meeting other community development needs having a particular urgency.

The City estimates that 80% of the CDBG funds available for PY 2024-2025 will be targeted to benefit low- and moderate- income persons. As such, the City of Lauderhill's planned uses of the funds are consistent with the National Objectives of the CDBG Program. Summary of projects include Publ...
