RESOLUTION NO. 25R-03-82: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR SENATE BILL 696 AND HOUSE BILL 675 WHICH WILL ASSIST LOW-INCOME SENIORS WHO OWN A HOMESTEADED CONDOMINIUM UNIT BY PROVIDING A GRANT UP TO $2,500 TO HELP PAY CONDOMINIUM ASSESSMENTS AND URGING MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO SUPPORT THOSE BILLS; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY VICE MAYOR SARAI “RAY” MARTIN).

Request Action:
the grant would allow low-income persons, who are senior citizens and who own a condominium unit that is their homestead, to apply for a one-time grant up to $2,500, to assist with the payment of special assessments levied by the condominium association to fund the condominium’s reserve accounts in accordance with state statute
Need:
The City Commission of Lauderhill expresses its support for Senate Bill 696 and House Bill 675 and urges all members of the Florida Legislature to support the bills which will assist low-income seniors who own a condominium unit that is their homestead, with a one-time grant up to $2,500.
