Request Action:
The approval of Alternative Service Concepts ("ASC") to provide Third Party Administrator ("TPA") services for Workers' Compensation and Liability/Automobile/Property claims for the city for the period October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.

Need:
A TPA is necessary to administer claims presented to Risk Management for Workers' Compensation and Liability/Automobile/Property claims.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
The TPA is necessary to assist in the operation of the Risk Management Program. The TPA will also be responsible for the Section 111 Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 ("MMSEA") reporting requirements mandated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. MMSEA reporting is required to allow coordination of benefits with Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries who receive settlements, judgements, awards or other payments from liability insurance or workers' compensation.
