Approve a sponsorship donation of $2,500.00 to provide lunch for volunteers and kids for the Boys and Girls of Broward County Construction Career Day on March 15, 2025.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Boys and Girls of Broward County will be hosting a Construction Career Day on March 15, 2025 at their Lauderhill location. They have requested donations in support of this event, with a budget breakdown as follows:
T-shirts = $2,000
Transportation= $2,500
Photography/signage=1,000
Misc. Program Supplies= $500 (example: safety supplies, new hard hats, goggles, etc.)
Breakfast= $1,000 (including drinks)
Lunch (volunteers +kids) = $2,500 (including drinks)
Extra hydration/drinks= $250
Based on the projected budget and request for donations, Commissioner Richard Campbell has requested to fund the cost of lunch for volunteers and kids in a total of $2,500.00.
This donation will cover:
• Teens Ages 14-19 years old = 200 meals provided
• Adult Volunteers= 100 meals provided
• BGCBC Staff= 40 meals provided
