Request Action:
The City of Lauderhill wishes to purchase additional property to utilize for entertainment district associated use utilizing GO Bond dollars. The funding ordinance needs to be amended to modify the authorization for the use of funds to specificallly authorize and include the purchase of such land.

Need:
To amend the GO Bond ordinance to authorize the purchase of lands associated with entertainment district use.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill previously purchased a 1.70 acre parcel from Lauderhill Marketplace, LLC ("Parcel 1"). The City intends to purchase an additional 6.35 acres ("Parcel 4") from Lauderhill Marketplace, LLC. and they are going to donate approximately 4.0 acres ("Parcel 2") to the City at no cost once they have been issued the required building permits for the RaceTrac Market gas station they are intending to build on the 1.87 acre (Parcel 3"). GO Bond dollars are being used for the purchase so the ordinance needs to be amended to clarify the authorization for the use of funds for the specific land purchase and for the additional remaining monies that are leftover from the bond issue to be allowed to be utilized for the purchase of additional land and/or improvements relating to the entertainment district use.
