Request Action:
Requesting the City Commission to approve the Fifth Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and the City of Lauderhill to provide for Community Shuttle Service for Lauderhill residents through September 30, 2027.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill and Broward County entered into an Interlocal Agreement dated September 30, 2019 which provides for Community Shuttle Service as an alternative form of public transportation for residents within the jurisdictional limits of the City. The Parties desire to enter this Amendment to extend the term of the Agreement.
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
The County has agreed under Article 6.1 to fully reimburse the City for all costs related to operations and maintenance of the Community Shuttle Service at the established rate. Since the funding is provided directly by the County and can only be used for shuttle operations, the City will not incur any expenses. Any rate increase will be absorbed entirely by the County’s reimbursement, ensuring that the City has no financial obligation for these services.
