RESOLUTION NO. 25R-03-71: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING _________________________________ BY THE COMMISSION AS A WHOLE TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL EMPLOYEE PENSION BOARD FOR THE VACANT UNEXPIRED TWO (2) YEAR TERM TO EXPIRE FEBRUARY 2027; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Body

Appointments to the General Employee Pension Board have expired and new appointments must be approved to ensure the board has a quorum and is able to continue meeting.

 

The following information has been prepared for your consideration:

 

I.                     REQUESTED ACTION

This Resolution is requested to approve the appointments to the General Employee Pension Board, as selected by the Commission as a whole to fill the vacant and/or expired seat, for a two (2) year term, to expire February 2027.

 

II.                     SUMMARY AND HISTORY/BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The appointment of Paul Shelton as a regular member by the Commission as a whole expired February 2025. Mr. Shelton expressed his intent not to seek reappointment to the board.

 

Alicia Alexander has served on the General Employee Pension Board, through election by Employees, and has expressed her interest in being considered for appointment by the Commission as a whole for the seat vacated by Mr. Shelton. This appointment would be for a two (2) year term, to expire February 2027.

 

III.                     FINANCIAL IMPACT

None.

 

IV.                     RECOMMENDATION/ACTION

It is recommended that the Commission approve the appointments as described above.
