Pass a Resolution to approve an appointment of a Member and Alternate Member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) on behalf of the City of Lauderhill to serve for a four (4) year term.

To fill the City of Lauderhilll's position on the MPO for Member and Alternate Member.

Summary Explanation/Background: (Provide a summary/background of this agenda request)
The City of Lauderhill has a Member and Alternate Member position to be filled on the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (“Broward MPO”). The prior members terms are expiring and need reappointment. Their term is up and the City Commission must appoint new members to attend the Executive Committee for the Broward MPO.
The Broward MPO is a transportation policy-making board comprised of 25 voting members including representatives from the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority/Tri-Rail (SFRTA), the School Board of Broward County, and four representatives from the Broward County Board of Commissioners. The City of Lauderhill is a voting member of Municipal District 3. There are an additional 13 Alternate Members of the Board, who have voting rights when others are absent. The MPO is responsible for transportation planning and funding allocation in urbanized Broward County. The Broward MPO works with the public, planning organizations, government agencies, elected officials, and community groups to develop transportation plans.
