RESOLUTION NO. 23R-07-180: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPROVING THE REMOVAL OF VARIOUS ALTERNATE MEMBERS OF THE LAUDERHILL CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD WHICH WERE APPOINTED BY VARIOUS COMMISSIONERS DUE TO LACK OF ATTENDANCE AT SUCCESSIVE BOARD MEETINGS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Adopt a Resolution to remove the following alternate members from the Code Enforcement Board:
Demetria Rawls (Alternate member appointed by Commissioner Dunn)
Cynthia Dunlap (Alternate member appointed by Vice Mayor S. Martin)
Claudette dePass (Alternate member appointed by Commissioner Grant)
Need:
The Code Enforcement Board schedules alternate members to ensure they have a quorum and the listed members have missed at least three consecutive meetings.

(c) Vacancies. Any member or alternate who fails to attend two (2) of any three (3) successive meetings without cause and without prior approval of the chairperson shall be automatically removed from the board and have his/her seat declared vacant, and the commissioner who had appointed him/her or the commission as a whole if the person was so appointed, shall promptly fill such vacancy. Members shall serve in accordance with the City Charter and the State Statutes and may be suspended or removed for causes provided therein.
According to attendance records from the staff liaison for the Code Enforcement Board:
Demetria Rawls has not been present for any meetings from January 12, 2023 to June 22, 2023 (with her absence on May 11 being noted as excused).
Cynthia Dunlap has not been present for any meetings from April 20, 2023 to June 22, 2023.
Claudette dePass has not been present for any meetings from April 20, 2023 to June 22, 2023 (with her absence on April 20 being noted as excused).
