Body

Need: Staff has identified the need to utilize a “Unified Flexibility Zone” within the municipal boundaries of the City of Lauderhill as opposed to limiting flex unit allocation to standard flexibility zones to allow the collapsing of standard zones and defining one municipal “receiving zone.”

Summary Explanation/ Background: The objective of this resolution is to initiate the flex unification process in accordance with Article 3 section 3.1 of the Administrative Rules Document: BrowardNext. The unified flexibility zone enables municipalities to pool available residential and non-residential “flex” to be allocated within larger “receiving areas.”

Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact: The Division finds the implementation of this Resolution may not require a budget allocation or expenditure of City funds and concludes it may not have any direct fiscal impact on the City’s budget.
