Request Action:
A resolution is requested from the City Commission to approve the Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community responses to COVID-19 Agreement 1 CPIMP211250-01-00, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with partnerships and Subaward with Nova Southeastern University designated as the Minority Serving Institution.
Need:
Lauderhill's Advancing Health Literacy grant will provide Culturally and Linguistically appropriate Literature on the necessity of testing, vaccinations and prevention practices for ethnic and minority populations that include subpopulations with limited English Proficiency (LEP) identified per Census Track Block level data as Creole and Spanish. Per Lauderhill Fire Department from February to March 2021 59% of Seniors 65 and over received vaccinations, however; from March to April 2021 only 750 residents 18 and older had received a vaccination.
