Body
Request Action:
Pass a Resolution to authorize the expenditure of State Law Enforcement Trust Funds in an amount not to exceed $36,000.00 for the purchase of seven (7) new camera packages for use by the City of Lauderhill Police Crime Scene Unit.

Need:
To approve expenditure of State Law Enforcement Trust Funds

Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City previously approved the expenditure of $11,000 from Federal Forfeiture Funds to purchase cameras. Technology improved so the police department decided to wait to order new cameras and did not use that previously approved amount. Instead, the police department is requesting authorizing to use State Law Enforcement Trust Funds (instead of Federal Forfeiture funds) to purchase seven (7) new camera packages with newer technology for use by the crime scene unit. The old cameras will be transferred to the traffic homicide unit. This expenditure qualifies as an appropriate and authorized use in accordance with the Florida Statutes. This request also approves the request to budget, transfer and appropriate the funds for use.
