Request Action:
Pass a Resolution to approve the expenditure of Federal Forfeiture Funds for the processing of evidence as stated in the supporting memorandum in an amount not to exceed $23,555.00 to DNA Labs International, which is the only local lab with this capability for this type of processing of DNA evidence and is unique sole source in nature for this testing.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
A large investigation is ongoing which necessitates the processing of DNA evidenc. Local evidence labs do not have the capability of conducting the necessary testing. DNA Labs International is specialized and sole source in natuer in that it is the only lab that has the necessary capability to do the required DNA testing. The use of Federal Forfeiture Funds is being requested in an amount not to exceed $23,555.00.
