RESOLUTION NO. 26R-07-108: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) SECOND YEAR ACTION PLAN (PROGRAM YEAR 2026-2027); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD); AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, KENNIE HOBBS, JR.).
Request Action:
A resolution is requested from the City Commission to approve the City of Lauderhill's Second Year Annual Action Plan.
Need:
Action is required to obtain commission approval prior to submittal to satisfy the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations for participating jurisdictions receiving federal funding.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Staff has prepared the second annual action plan in accordance with the policies and regulations set forth by HUD. Proposed activities are as follows:
• Program Administration: $158,479
• Public Services: $118,859
• Public Facilities & Infrastructure: $250,058
• Economic Development Opportunities: $100,000
• Housing Rehabilitation (Affordable Housing): $165,000
Pursuant to regulations set forth by the HUD, the City of Lauderhill has developed its proposed Second Year Action Plan based upon $792,396.00 funding allocation. This document will serve as the City's plan for Program Year (PY) 2026-2027. In addition, each activity utilizing CDBG fund must address at least one (1) of the following three National Objectives:
• Benefiting low- and moderate- income persons.
• Prevention or elimination of blight, or
• Meeting other community development needs having a particular urgency.
