Request Action:
A Resolution to approve the funding source for the purchase of vehicles citywide and maintenance equipment for Parks and Recreation and DEES Departments in order to provide necessary governmental services from the American Rescue Plan Act COVID-19 relief funds.
Need:
Approve the use of American Rescue Plan Act COVID-19 relief funds in an amount not to exceed $5 million to fund the purchase of necessary vehicles and maintenance equipment to be used citywide.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The American Rescue Plan Act will provide COVID-19 relief funding. One of the uses for the source of funds is to fund governmental services affected by a revenue reduction resulting from COVID-19. Vehicles and maintenance equipment are necessary to provide the governmental services provided by each department. The City needs to purchase and equip various vehicles citywide as well as maintenance equipment for the Park and Recreation Department and the Department of Engineering and Environmental Services. This Resolution will authorize the use of the COVID-19 relief funding an a total amount not to exceed $5 million to fund the costs of those Purchases.
