Request Action:
A resolution requesting approval of a Grant Agreement between the City of Lauderhill and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the amount of $780,917.00 in FY 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The resolution is necessary to accept the Federal grant award to be entitled to reimbursements.
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
This Federal grant provides for the City of Lauderhill to receive $780,917.00 in FY 2025 CDBG Entitlement funds. The City of Lauderhill is designated as an Entitlement Community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and, as such, is eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds annually. To receive these funds, the City must develop and submit a Consolidated Plan every five (5) years and an Annual Action Plan (AAP) for each year. As required, the FY 2025 Annual Action Plan (AAP), approved by the Commission via Resolution No.26R-6541 designates how the funds will be utilized within the City. The City is responsible for ensuring that all grant funds are used in accordance with all program requirements and guidelines.
