RESOLUTION NO. 25R-06-114: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA, REAFFIRMING ITS COMMITMENT TO UNITY, SAFETY, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THROUGH THE “UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY” PROGRAM ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY MAYOR DENISE GRANT).

Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill launched the “Unity in the Community” Program in 2019, initiated by then Commissioner Denise Grant to foster community fortification, safety, and unity among residents. The Unity in the Community involves city officials, community liaisons, and stakeholders visiting various neighborhoods to canvass, engage with homeowner associations, residents, and local leaders, answering questions, addressing concerns, and sharing ideas to strengthen community bonds. The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the City to continue to support the Unity in the Community program to create a vibrant Lauderhill where every resident feels valued, heard, and protected.
