RESOLUTION NO. 25R-04-88: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RETAIN A FINANCIAL EXPERT OR CONSULTANT TO FORENSIC AUDIT GRANT FUNDS AWARDED TO THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL THAT WERE MANAGED BY LAUDERHILL HEALTH AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP` (“LHPP”) BASED ON A REPORT ISSUED BY THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE GRANTS, POLICIES AND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL; PROVIDING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER AND INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY COMMISSIONER RICHARD CAMPBELL).

Request Action:
Requesting that the City Commission authorizes the Interim City Manager to retain a Financial Expert or Consultant to audit grants awarded to the City of Lauderhill that were managed by Lauderhill Health and Prosperity Program (“LHPP”).
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill has a fiduciary duty as a grant recipient to ensure that all grant funds awarded to the City are managed properly to comply with the grant requirements, policies, and Code of Ordinances of the City. Because the City has not yet received reimbursements of $1,679,455.17 of general funds allocated to a grant program managed by LHPP, and the prospect of receiving reimbursement for the funds is unknown at this time, it is necessary to engage a consultant to audit grants awarded to the City of Lauderhill that were managed by the LHPP.
