Request Action:
A Resolution in support of terminating the City of Lauderhill's participation in the Tri-Party Educational Mitigation Agreements.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Needed to show support for the release which is expected to facilitate economic development, enhance housing opportunities, and remove unnecessary barriers to redevelopment within the City’s Activity Centers. The City of Oakland Park started this effort to end the unreasonable impact fees. On September 17, 2024, Broward County voted to terminate its involvement as well as numerous other cities, including the City of Lauderhill. The CIty of Lauderhill is in support of terminating our participation in this Agreement which results in unreasonable school impact fees being charged to certain new developers within the City.
