Approve the 11th Addendum to the agreement with the Sole Source Provider for Johns Eastern to provide third party administration for city's run-off claims.
Request Action:
To approve the contract renewal with Johns Eastern Company, Inc. to administer the City's run-off claims for the period October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.
Need:
To maintain accurate aggregate claim tracking and necessary payments from the insurer's loss fund.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City hired Johns Eastern to administer the run-off claims that were established before October 1, 2007 with the old Third Party Administrator ("TPA"), Gallagher Bassett.

Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
The total fees are $11,840.00 based on the outstanding claims. These fees are budgeted under line items 001.162.4521, 001.162.4522 and 001.162.4523. The fees include $3,500.00 to comply with the mandated Medicare Reporting requirements. As claims are closed, the annual fees decrease.
