Approval of a resolution authorizing the City of Lauderhill (“City”) to piggyback of Florida Department of Law Enforcement Contract No. FDLE-001-25 with DataWorks Plus, LLC for the purchase of rapid biometric identification devices, software, and related services for the Lauderhill Police Department, and to enter into a piggyback agreement with the firm in an amount not to exceed $42,952.00.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill Police Department has identified the need to acquire Rapid biometric identification equipment to enhance officer safety and improve the identification of individuals encountered during law enforcement operations. The proposed equipment will provide officers with the ability to quickly and accurately identify subjects in the field through mobile fingerprint technology.
Pursuant to Section 2-144 of the City's Code, the City may waive its requirements on competitive bidding and join in on cooperative purchasing plans when in the best interest of the City.
