Request Action:
Requesting consideration of a text amendment to the Code of Ordinances & Land Development Regulations (LDR) to update the sign regulations for temporary noncommercial and political signs.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Staff has prepared an amendment to the Land Development Regulations Schedule I, to provide consistent guidelines when temporary signs may be posted. Currently the . Currently, political signs may be posted in residential areas up to 90 days prior to an event, whereas signs posted in nonresidential areas may not be installed until 60 days prior to an event. Staff is recommending to amend the sign allowance to be consistent city-wide. Additionally, the overall dimensions of the signs are provided, but do not provide maximum height and width. Staff is recommending to adopt maximum dimensions to make it easier for staff to enforce going forward.
The item is scheduled for consideration by the Planning & Zoning Board June 24, 2025 Meeting.
Staff is recommending approval of the amendment to the Land Development Regulations.
