RESOLUTION NO. 19R-04-73: A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2019 AMENDMENT TO THE "ADDITIONAL" LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL FOR MOTOR FUEL PROVIDING FOR DIVISION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE BROWARD COUNTY ADDITIONAL LOCAL OPTION OF THREE CENTS OF GAS TAX ON MOTOR FUEL ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, CHARLES FARANDA).

Request Action:
Pass a Resolution to approve the 2019 Amendment to the "Additional" Local Option Gas Tax Interlocal Agreement providing for the cities to receive 51.27% of the three cents of gas tax.
Need:
To approve the amendment so that the City of Lauderhill receives its share of the 3 cent gas tax.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Each year an Amendment is required to update the University of Florida Bureau of Conomics and Business Research population figures for each city in order to determine the percentage amount of revenue that each city gets allocated from the three (3) cents of gas tax. This year the population for the City of Lauderhill according to that study has been determined to be 71,751 for the purposes of the calculation of the gas tax. The City of Lauderhill will receive 1.953773% of the 3 cent gas tax.
