Request Action:
The City Manager is proposing to implement Impact Fees for Police, Fire and Parks for new residential
development. Impact Fees are authorized by Florida State Statute to offset the demand for services created by new residential development.

Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill is experiencing growth with a projected population increase of 11.3 percent through 2030. To address the need for additional facilities due to new growth and to
continue to provide high-quality service to its residents, the City is interested in developing impact fees in the following service areas:
1. Fire Rescue
2. Law Enforcement
3. Parks and Recreation

The City retained BusinessFlare to prepare a technical study that would document the current cost, credit, and demand components associated with providing capital facilities. BusinessFlare completed a draft report based on information provided by City staff. City staff subsequently utilized the draft report and added text, tables and research in generating this final report including the proposed fee schedules...
