Request Action:
A resolution requesting City Commission to approve the On-The-Job (OJT) Training Agreement between the City of Lauderhill and CareerSource Broward.
Need:
A Resolution approving the Agreement is required to receive grant funding for the first 4 months of employment for the two, Resolution 20R-12-245 approved Grant Specialist positions.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), signed into law July 22, 2014, allows for employment and training services. CareerSource Broward is the local administering agency that uses the Federal funds for apprenticeships, on-the-job training and customized training. Approval of the On-The-Job (OJT) Training Agreement will allow the City reimbursement up to $12,500 for each trainee's salary.
