CRA-23O-08-101: AN ORDINANCE OF THE LAUDERHILL COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CRA) APPROVING THE “AS IS” RESIDENTIAL CONTRACT FOR SALE AND PURCHASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL AND SHANELL ROBERSON FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5731 N.W. 28TH STREET, LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA AS LEGALLY DESCRIBED IN THE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE OF $348,500.00; PROVIDING TERMS AND CONDITIONS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS NECESSARY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEAN HENDERSON).

Approve the Purchase Contract for a Model B home for the price of $348,500.00.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The sale of infill single family homes furthers the Central CRA’s Community Redevelopment Plan (“CRP”) by balancing the mix in the range of housing stock values and quality. The infill homes were constructed on properties that were previously identified as being poorly managed, physically deteriorating or both which contribute to the high incidence crime in certain areas of the Central CRA. These new homes and their owners will begin to facilitate a shift in the area by promoting homeownership and reducing housing stock owned by absentee owners or negligent renters. This Ordinance approves the purchase contract contingent upon the buyer obtaining the appropriate necessary financing to close.
