RESOLUTION NO. 25R-02-39: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING SEVERAL NEW MEMBERS TO THE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD BY MAYOR DENISE D. GRANT AND COMMISSIONERS RICHARD CAMPBELL AND JOHN T. HODGSON FOR UNEXPIRED TERMS AS SET FORTH HEREIN; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Appointments to the Code Enforcement board must be made due to a number of expirations in term and the election of new Commissioners to specific seats.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Code of Ordinances states that when a Commissioner's term ends or they leave office, any appointments they made, which have not otherwise expired, will automatically expire 60 days after their successor takes office unless the new Commissioner approves extending the existing appointment.
John Beckford was appointed by former Mayor Ken Thurston for a term to expire November 2026 however, as Mayor Thurston's term on the Commission ended and he left office, this appointment is now considered to have automatically expired 60 days after Mayor Grant took office, leaving the seat vacant.
Mayor Grant has selected Antionette "Candy" Henry to be appointed to this seat for the remainder unexpired term of three (3) years to end November 2026.
With the appointment of Ms. Henry by Mayor Grant, this now leaves the appointment for seat 4 vacant.
Commissioner Richard Campbell has selected Hayim Rosenstein to be appointed to this seat for the remainder unexpired term of three (3) years to end November 2027.
The appointment of Barbara Freeman as regular board member, in association with seat 1, expired November 2024.
Commissioner John T. Hodgson has selected Latrisha Greaves to be appointed to the seat for the remainder of an unexpired term of three (3) years to end November 2027.
The appointment of Karlene Simpson as alternate board member, in association with seat 1, expired November 2024.
