Need Summary Explanation/ Background:

Why is there a need for this action and provide summary/background?

Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:  The City of Lauderhill respectfully requests an extension of the statutory deadlines under section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, for adoption of the City’s intent resolution to use the uniform method of collecting the non-ad valorem assessment for the Business Improvement District (BID).  Pursuant to the statute the City requests an extension of the January 1 adoption deadline to March 1, 2026, and the January 10 transmittal deadline to March 10, 2026. This additional time will allow the City to complete the required four consecutive weeks of published notice and finalize the legal description for the assessment area.
