RESOLUTION NO. 26R-01-11: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF _________________________ TO THE LAUDERHILL POLICE OFFICERS RETIREMENT TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, FOR A FOUR (4) YEAR TERM TO EXPIRE NOVEMBER 2029, SAID PERSON TO SERVE IN PLACE OF THE PREVIOUS SELECTION OF DON GIANCOLI WHO IS INELIGIBLE TO SERVE ON THE BOARD PER FLORIDA STATUTE SECTION 185.05(1)(A); PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Request Action:
Select and approve an appointee to replace Don Giancoli on the Police Pension Board.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
On November 10, 2025 the City Commission approved Resolution No. 25R-11-210, which appointed Andrea Anderson and Don Giancoli, by the Commission as a Whole, to serve on the Lauderhill Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund Board of Trustees. According to Florida Statute 185.05(1)(a), members of the board of trustees appointed by the legislative body must be legal residents of the City. Mr. Giancoli is not a resident of Lauderhill and, thus, is not eligible to be appointed to the board. A new appointee must be selected.
It is the recommendation of the City Manager that the Commission select Yolan Todd to fill this seat, as City Manager Hobbs previously held this position until the expiration of his term.
