Request Action:

Requesting City Commission approval of the resolution to accept two (2) drainage easement dedications from Alexis Robinson and George Gabb located at 1401 NW 51 Avenue and Vanus Louis-Jeune located at 1361 NW 51 Avenue.

 

 

Need Summary Explanation/ Background:

Drainage improvements east of the Florida Turnpike will include underground installation of a 30 inch pipe going along the shared property line of the two lots from NW 51 Avenue to a proposed catch basins that will be located within the City’s right-of-way, next to the Turnpike wall.  The City of Lauderhill is currently in the process of implementing improvements to the drainage system located East of the Turnpike. Based on the City’s feedback, the intent of the project is to eliminate the flow of runoff from the Turnpike into the City’s right-of-way and improve drainage infrastructure within the City’s right-of-way The project area is west of NW 51st and 50th AVE north of NW 11th PL and just south of NW 18th CT, in Broward County.  The City would like to install drainage pipes from the catch basins in front of 1361 and 1401 NW 51 Avenue to catch basins within the City’s right-of-way to aid in the flooding in the area east of the Turnpike.  There is currently a capital improvement project funded to accommodate the infrastructure required.
