Body

Request Action:

Approval to increase the spending limit previously approved by the City Commission via City of Lauderhill Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Resolution CRA-25R-09-164 from $29,999.00 for each qualified Trade Contractor, piggybacking on the City of Lauderhill Solicitation, to an amount not exceeding $100,000.00; and  Approval for the CRA Board to enter into an Agreement with Allsite Electric, in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00, piggybacking the City of Lauderhill solicitation as per CRA Resolution CRA-25R-09-164.

Need:

This action is needed to bring the CRA’s three (3) commercial properties up to code, rehabilitate commercial bays for lease, and properly light buildings and parking lots. The work will improve visibility, help combat crime, create a sense of safety at the buildings, support lease-up of vacant or underutilized bays, and move the CRA toward self-sufficiency through recurring lease revenue and improved property performance.

Summary Explanation/ Background:

The CRA is preparing three (3) commercial properties and multiple commercial bays for lease. Electrical code corrections and lighting improvements are required before safe occupancy and operation. Allsite Electric is a City of Lauderhill approved Trade Contractor. Piggybacking the City solicitation allows the CRA to access established terms and complete needed improvements efficiently. The anticipated scope may include code corrections, panel or equipment repairs or replacements, interior and exterior lighting, parking lot lighting, electrical service to commercial bays, and related electrical work necessary to ready the properties for lease and improve public safety.
