Body
Request Action:
Requesting consideration of a text amendment to the Land Development Regulations (LDR) prepared by Staff.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Staff has prepared an amendment to the Land Development Regulations seeking to amend the regulations to allow more options for painting residential buildings and clarifying the painting requirements and process for multi-family and non-residential developments within the City.
Currently, the city has a limited color palette approved for single-family houses, whereas other building owners may propose a wider range of color designs. Staff has proposed an amendment to the restrict colors selected to offer a wider range of neutral colors that may be permitted on a single-family house. The following proposal would remove the permit requirement when painting houses in all neutral colors, or limiting the design to a single accent color.
The Development Review Report (DRR) prepared by staff outlines the in greater detail the purpose and intent of the changes. The item was considered by the Planning & Zoning Board at the Meeting held on March 31, 2026. The Board unanimously recommended approval to the City Commission of the changes with a vote of 6-0.
Staff is recommending approval of the amendment to the Land Development Regulations.
