Request Action:

Pass a resolution to approve a charitable donation with the use of abandoned property funds in the amount of $1,000.00 to Youth Empowerment Village, Inc.

 

Need:

To approve a donation to sponsor two (2) childrens trips.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

Youth Empowerment Village, Inc., which is a charitable 501(c)(3) has sought the donation of funds to sponsor two (2) children on their trip to Tallahassee, Florida in January 26-28, 2020. The cost is $500 per child. The Police Department wishes to donate a total of $1,000 from its abandoned property funds, which is an authorized legal use pursuant to Florida Statute, Section 705.103(2)(a) to donate to a charity. These funds will sponsor two (2) children for the trip.
