RESOLUTION NO. 26R-01-20: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA, WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS TO AUTHORIZE A PIGGYBACK OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA STATE TERM CONTRACT NUMBER 25101900-21-STC WITH GREEN THUMB LAWN & GARDEN, FOR THE PURCHASE OF AGRICULTURE AND LAWN EQUIPMENT, PARTS AND SERVICES FOR USE CITYWIDE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PIGGYBACK AGREEMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $90,000 PER YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER KENNIE HOBBS, JR.).

Approval of a resolution authorizing the City of Lauderhill to enter into an agreement with Green Thumb Lawn & Garden, an authorized Deere & Company dealer, utilizing the State of Florida Contract No. 25101900-21-STC, for the purchase of agriculture and lawn equipment, parts and services for use Citywide.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Various divisions of the City of Lauderhill utilize John Deere lawn equipment to maintain the beauty and safety of all Lauderhill neighborhoods, including medians, facilities and City owned property.
The State of Florida has secured a comprehensive contract with Deere & Company for the purchase of agriculture and lawn equipment which includes competitive pricing for packing, handling, freight, distribution, transportation, startup, pre-delivery, delivery, inspection, installation, construction, assembly, title and registration. As a local authorized dealer of Deere & Company products, equipment and services, Green Thumb Lawn & Garden is able to provide the required products and services at the State negotiated rates.
By utilizing the State of Florida Contract No. 25101900-21-STC, the City is able to streamline procurement efforts, secure competitive pricing, and ensure full compliance with purchasing regulations.
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
The required equipment, parts and services will be purchased as needed, by the relevant Division, using the appropriate corresponding general ledger code.
