A resolution is needed to waive competitive bidding and approve the sole source designation for Genesis Rescue Systems LLC (Rescue Systems) to purchase emergency rescue equipment for the Fire Department.
Need:
Approval is needed to purchase equipment to aid in removing material or barriers that restrict mobility and accessibility for residents during incidents to ensure effectiveness in the role of firefighters and the community's safety.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Rescue Systems Unlimited LLC is the sole supplier/distributor of products manufactured by Genesis Rescue Systems in Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. They are solely responsible for all sales, services, and training.
The purchase of equipment will increase the chances of fire-rescue saving lives, reduce the cost of insurance, and improve the City's safety standards.
Accuracy, quickness, and durability in emergencies are essential to the function of Lauderhill Fire-Rescue. Each year, more significant numbers of people die from accidents and fires. Rescue equipment is indispensable to ensure maximum protection against emergency incidents. Investing in rescue equipment will help improve safety standards across the board. This investment will allow fire rescue to accurately and quickly react in emergencies unfolding within the community.
This purchase is advantageous to the Fire Department and the community as a whole.
