Request Action:
Approve the award of bid to Gemstone Builders acting as purchasing agent for Isles SND for 40-year renovations on a phased basis.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
Approve award of bid in response to Isles SND RFP 2024-012 regarding certain 40-year building renovations on a phased in basis utilizing SND funding in an amount not to exceed $230,000. The Isles SND board meet on September 18, 2024 and voted to award the bid to Gemstone Builders. They indicated that they also seek to obtain the authority of the Isla HOA to use $200,000 from a construction loan the HOA has to also contribute towards the project as they concede they do not have enough funds to do the complete project as stated on the scope of work within the proposal. They provided the City Manager with authority to negotiate an agreement with the vendor to see if the vendor agrees to a partial phased in approach.
