Request Action:
State the action requested of the Commission and why the action is necessary. What is the expected outcome of the action?
Requesting the waiving of competitive bidding and authorizing the piggybacking of the City of Weston park maintenance services contract RFP No. 2019-13 for the maintenance of both natural turf and artificial turf, landscaping, and irrigation.
Need:
Why is there a need for this action?
Currently, the Parks and Recreation Department has a need for both field turf renovation and irrigation repair work which is included in the Weston RFP. The Department also needs to routinely sod, landscape, and repair irrigation systems.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Provide a summary/background of this agenda request.
The City has recently gone out to bid once for the field turf renovation project and three times for irrigation repair work. All bids have come back over budget. Piggybacking on the City of Weston Contract will not only save the City time and money of repeating the procurement process, but it will also allow the City to take advantage of other local vendors that offer competitively procured pricing.
