Request Action:
Pass a Resolution to approve the Tentative Tax Levy for the Habitat Safe Neighborhood Improvement District Fiscal Year 2027 the proposed Millage Rate of 1.0 Mills and proposed Non-ad Valorem Special Assessment in the amount of $125.00 per parcel of land per year from the District area.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The community is recommending this levy to continue projects identified in the Habiat II Comprehensive Plan to improve the safety and security of the community. To reappoint members to Council.
The Safe Neighborhood Districts were created to provide a more secure community for our residents. The Habiat II Safe Neighborhood District was created in 2011 by the City. Residents in this community voted, by referendum, to create the district and levy taxes to collect funds to make their neighborhoods safer.
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
Revenues in the estimated amount of $70,619 will be collected with this annual non-ad valorem assessment.
