RESOLUTION NO. 21R-05-94: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPROVING THE LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLANTATION AND THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL FOR THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL FIRE DEPARTMENT TO TEMPORARY USE THE SPECIFIED FIRE VEHICLES ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS AT NO COST TO THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL; PROVIDING FOR INDEMNIFICATION TO THE CITY OF PLANTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER DESORAE GILES-SMITH).

Request Action:
To approve the License Agreement with the City of Plantation to allow for the loan of specified fire vehicles from the City of Plantation at no cost to the City of Lauderhill if needed on an emergency basis.
Need:
To allow the City of Lauderhill to borrow specific fire vehicles on a temporary as needed emergency basis if our current spare units are not available to be used while we await our replacement vehicles.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Plantation has expressed a willingness to allow the City of Lauderhill to loan out specified fire vehicles on a temporary as needed basis until the City of Lauderhill actually receives the fire vehicles that Lauderhill has on order, the manufacture of which has been delayed due to COVID-19. The City of Plantation has agreed to loan the specified fire vehicles to the City of Lauderhill at no cost on a temporary as-needed emergency basis , so long as insurance and indemnification coverage are provided to the City of Plantation.
