Request Action:

Pass a Resolution to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Teamster Local 769 regarding the implementation of a furlough program.

 

Need:

To approve a furlough program.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

COVID has had a significant impact on the City's revenues.  Rather than having to layoff bargaining unit members at a time when unemployment is high, the City has expressed a desire to implement a furlough program to reduce payroll expenses.  The Teamsters Local 769 has in good faith agreed to the terms stated in the MOU which provides for 8 furlough days during Fiscal Year 2021.
