Pass a Resolution to approve the Tentative Budget for the Manors Safe Neighborhood Improvement District Fiscal Year 2020 which will be incorporated into the City of Lauderhill Fiscal Year 2020 Budget in the amount of $129,932.00 for the for the Common Area and in the amount of $ 120,280.00 for the Condo I Association for the assessments being imposed this Fiscal Year.

Florida Statutes, Section 163.5151 requires the City Commission of the City of Lauderhill to approve the Tentative Budget for the District for Fiscal Year 2020 prior to the final adoption by the District Board of Directors.  

 

Summary Explanation/ Background: (Provide a summary/background of this agenda request)

Florida Statutes, Section 163.5151 requires the Manors Safe Neighborhood Improvement District to prepare and adopt an annual budget for each Fiscal Year.  This District Budget will be incorporated into and become a part of the City of Lauderhill General Budget for Fiscal Year 2020.  Pursuant to the Statutory requirement, prior to the adoption of the Final Budget by the District Board of Directors on September 26, 2019, the Tentative Budget must be approved by the City Commission of the City of Lauderhill.  This Resolution is the approval by the City Commission of the Tentative Budget as approved by the District Board of Directors prior to the adoption of the Final Budget.  The non-ad valorem and ad valorem tax assessments designated within the Budget will be collected by the Broward County Property Appraiser’s Officer as the uniform method of collection on the Annual Tax Bill.   Authorization is given to the District to levy ad valorem taxes up to zero (0.0) mills annually and non ad-valorem special assessment to support planning & implementation of district improvements not to exceed $150.00 dollars for each Common Area Master Association parcel and an additional not to exceed $250.00 assessment the Condo I category parcels this year.
