A resolution of the City Commission requesting the acceptance of Calvin Giordano Inc proposal in the amount not to exceed $144,387.00 TO PROVIDE A PRELIMINARY BASIS OF DESIGN REPORT OF PROCESS OPTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS to assess and remove Polyfluoroalkyl Substances PFAS.

The City of Lauderhill (CITY) has requested professional services from Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. (CGA) to prepare a Preliminary Basis of Design Report of process options and recommendations to assess and remove PF AS from the CITY's water supply to its existing Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in accordance with current and upcoming EPA regulations (refer to the Project Location Exhibit for the WTP location). The report will include analysis of existing water data, pre testing options, testing recommendations, treatment outline, treatment options, planning level Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost, and process recommendations based on current industry technologies. Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Environmental Protection Angency (EPA) finalized a national standard in April 2024 to set limits for Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) chemicals. In order for the City to be in accordance with upcoming EPA regulations/rule for drinking water requiring monitoring by 2027 and compliance actions by 2029. The aforementioned assessment must be conducted for future mitigation and compliance.
