Request Action:

Approve a Stormwater Services Agreement between the City of Lauderhill and Forest Lake Estates HOA providing for the City to be granted access to perform limited stormwater maintenance as provided in the agreement.

 

Need:

To grant access to a private community and to provide for limited stormwater maintenance services

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

All residents pay Stormwater User fees to the City. Those fees are designated to be used solely in connection with stormwater functions and services and are separate and apart from public tax payer dollars  Forest Lake Estates is a private development with limited private access.  Their Board of Directors has requested that the City be granted access to assist in performing the usual citywide function of limited stormwater maintenance to include solely the cleaning of the Association's catch basins as needed for the betterment of the City's overall stormwater management system in a manner consistent with the City's schedule of frequency.  The Forest Lake Board of Directors voted on their April 27, 2023 to approve the Stormwater Management Agreement.
