RESOLUTION NO. 20R-01-30: A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS FOR KABOOM! TO PROVIDE A PLAYGROUND BUILD GRANT AWARD TO THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL IF SELECTED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE LETTER OF INTENT; PROVIDING THAT THE NEW PLAYGROUND WOULD BE INSTALLED AT WOLK PARK IF AWARDED; PROVIDING FOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, CHARLES FARANDA).

Request Action:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department is requesting that the City Commission to approve the City Manager to sign the letter of intent for KaBOOM!
Need:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department has recognized a need for quality and variety of a KaBOOM! playground available to the community.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department has been selected by KaBOOM! for screening for a playground build grant award. If awarded, the City of Parks and Leisure Services Department will receive a brand new playground at Wolk Park provided by KaBOOM! and partners, allowing PALS to further provide quality fundamental recreation experiences through building a brand new playground for the community, replaciing old worn and outdated playground equipment at a low cost to be most inclusive of the community.
