RESOLUTION 25R-01-13: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPROVING A QUOTE FROM UTILITIES ASSOCIATES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $915,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF BODY WORN CAMERA, STORAGE EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE AND SERVICES FOR POLICE, FIRE AND CODE ENFORCEMENT IN-CAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS UNDER THE EXISTING AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE APPROPRIATE BUDGET CODE NUMBERS OVER A THREE YEAR PERIOD; AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER AND OTHER OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY INTERIM CITY MANAGER KENNIE HOBBS).

This is a quote from Utilities Associates, Inc in an amount not to exceed $915,000.00 over a three-year term, which is a sole source provider for body worn camera, storage equipment, software and services for our in-car communication. The City already has an agreement with Utilities Associates to provide the equipment. Upon approval, please release the funds at time of approval with appropriate budget code.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
The body worn camera equipment used by the Police Department, Fire Department, and Code Enforcement is unique and only compatible with certain software. Utility Associates, Inc. currently provides body worn camera equipment, software, and in-car communication services to the police department, fire department, and code enforcement. This contract would expand to include the purchase of new storage services as well which will provide for electronic transfer, storage, and compatibility with the State Attorney’s office and other necessary agencies to facilitate more efficient transfer of data amongst the agencies. This will be time saving and productive. The vendor promises to perform certain quality of services and continued functionality of the storage components or the City has the right to cancel.
