The Parks and Leisure Services Department is requesting that the City Commission approve professional services agreement between the City of Lauderhill and KELLY DAVIS dba BIG MAN PRODUCTIONS to provide MUSIC DJ RADIO AND TV BROADCASTING CLASSES FOR YOUTH at the Lauderhill Historical Museum, Windermere,and Sadkin parks.

The Parks and Leisure Services Department has recognized a need for quality and variety of professional music production and broadcast instructional programs and enrichment classes/training opportunities throughout the Parks
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department has recognized that KELLY DAVIS d/b/a BIG MAN PRODUCTIONS is a Lauderhill-based organization which will provide the City of Lauderhill Parks and Leisure Services, targeting youth who need access to free/low cost professional instructional classes, training and programming to underserved areas, such as neighborhoods within the City. These classes expands employment opportunities by introducing youth to the profession of Music Production, Radio/TV Broadcasting along with confidence building and public speaking training. They will provide youth programming, enrichments and instruction services at the Lauderhill Historical Museum, Windermere, and Sadkin (for a flat fee to the city and no costs to participants). He will also provide sessions on-site at his Lauderhill-based broadcast studio. Kelly Davis is the contact for the organization.

Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
Cost to city for instructor to provide afterschool care and summer student programming in Production and Broadcasting classes will be a total of $1,760 for services at Windermere, and $1,760 for services at Sadkin/Historical Museum - for a total flat rate in the amount of $3,520.00 to be paid from the appropriate budget code number. Aftercare students will not be charged a participant fee for these classes. If the Instructor provides additional special event programming as authorized by the City, then the fees for the special events will be a 80%/20% split between the instructor and the city for all participant fees collected.
